I really like today's prompt, "Taste of metal." It speaks to me, and sounds challenging but doable. But instead I'm inspired to write a small autumnal poem. I call it a haiku, but maybe it's really just a gesture in the direction of haiku. The more I learn about this deceptively simple-looking form, the further away I feel from mastery. As if that was ever in the cards anyway.
Wane
high arid blue sky
dry wind, wan light, leaves falling
earth gives its bounty
