OctPo Day 7: Silence

Today's prompt is silence. I love, love this prompt! And there is no way to do it justice, at least not for me. To me, silence is a state of near perfection, a letting go of the world that brings a profound sense of peace.

I used today's image prompt, and I decided to try one of my favorite forms, haiku. A form I could spend a lifetime trying to master! And one fitting for such a beautiful, timeless subject.


fog resting on leaves
the damp whiteness of the air
devouring sound

    Isnt that true? I often think that if Silence WERE a sound, it would be snow falling at night.
