K is for Kindness. We're taught as children to be kind to others. We aren't taught to be kind to ourselves. Why not? Perhaps because children naturally and rightly love themselves.
And now I have to teach myself to be kind to me. And it's way, way harder than you'd think. It's absurd, like having to teach a bird to fly.
Sometimes it's easier to be kind to everyone else. I just read another post on kindness, such an excellent K word! Visiting from the A to Z Challenge.
